How does AirGarage work?

AirGarage partners with churches, small businesses, and hotels to manage and monetize their parking lots.

As a renter, you can rent a spot any time their lot is not in use or there are extra spots available. Sometimes their parking lot may be closed for customer use only.

AirGarage charges a one hour minimum for every lot (regardless of if you stay less than an hour) due to credit card processing fees. The price is prorated every minute after the first hour.

I received a warning note even though I paid. What gives?

If you received a warning note despite having paid to pay or having been validated by the owner of a parking lot, please contact us.

It is most likely just an issue with the license plate on file not matching the license plate we scanned in the parking lot. No big deal, and we'll be glad to investigate and get it fixed for you.

How do I start and end a rental?

With AirGarage, the driver must start and end their own rental.

How to start a rental

1. Text 'pay' to the payment phone number listed on the signs. You will receive a text back with a link. Click on the link.

2. Fill in the fields on the webpage with your phone number, license plate, and preferred payment method.

3. Click the 'start rental' button.

How to end a rental
‍
1. You will receive a link via text where you can end your rental. Click on the link.

Note that on the active rental screen, you can add a discount code for your rental if you have one before ending.

2. Press the 'End Rental' button. You will be charged only for the time you use, subject to a one hour minimum.

How do I request a refund?

Please download the app and sign up with your phone number to easily requests refunds.

Once you are in the app, click on the 'Get help' screen in the menu bar, and then select 'Billing issue'.

You will be taken to your Rental 'History' screen - on this page, click on the rental you'd like us to look at.

You can request a partial refund if you were unable to, or forgot to end your rental. By selecting 'incorrect end time', you can enter the time you remember leaving.

If you have a different issue for which you'd like a refund, select 'other issue' and let us know what went wrong.

Why was my rental auto-started?

To prevent your vehicle from being towed or immobilized, we start rentals for all AirGarage users who are found by our enforcement team without an active rental while parking in our lots.

If your plate was scanned and your rental was not started within the 5 minute buffer time, we will start one for you as a courtesy.

Auto-started rentals will be charged the daily maximum rate plus a small convenience fee.

If you would prefer to pay only for the time you use, please be sure to start and end your own rentals moving forward.

Additionally, our system for hourly and multi-daily rentals are based on calendar dates, not per 24 hours basis.

All hourly and multi-daily rentals auto-end at 11:59pm. If you plan to park overnight in a location that does not offer multi-day parking, you will need to start a new rental every single day that your vehicle stays at the lot.

What is surge pricing? And what does 'lot overbooked' mean?

AirGarage works with churches, hotels, and businesses to sell parking when their lot is not in use.

During events, the number of spots we have to sell to you may be reduced by lot owners.

When all remaining available spaces are reserved by the lot owner, surge pricing is in effect and increases the hourly price and daily max.

Even though a lot may look empty, you may still be charged surge pricing if the owner is reserving their spaces for their visitors.

How do I enter a promo code?

You can enter a promo or discount code provided to you by a business that validates parking for their customers either before you start your rental while inputting your license plate and payment information or during your active rental.

Here is how to add a promo code to your active rental:

2. You will taken be to the Active Rental Screen. Under the price line, click on the grey text that says 'add a promo code'. Enter the promo code and click the 'REDEEM' button.
